Picking a Line on the Finish
The bridge can be deceptive, it curves around but the finish line is straight off the end of the island. It can be tempting to hug the West side (right) as it seems like the shortest from your perspective but looks can be deceiving: it’s only a few meters difference if you’re cutting in from that last channel marker.
Doug supposes that if it’s flooding being out in the channel and to the East side (left of the bridge can shave a few seconds off. If it’s ebbing, stay to the inside where there is less current (to the right from cox’s position). Use the current.

Measuring to the finish line and distance from last channel marker, demonstrating it is within 1-2 meters; therefore, consider the current.
